Matariki: More than stars 

Join us for an evening with Donna Barlow-Rolleston, where she weaves together ancient wisdom and modern leadership through the lens of Matariki.

Donna will take us through a storytelling and reflective experience that brings to life the three core pou of Matariki: remembrance, celebration, and aspiration. Together, these offer a powerful framework for how we lead, connect, and move forward.

Remembrance invites us to honour those who came before and the values that shape who we are. Celebration reminds us that leadership is never solo, it is built through manaakitanga and whanaungatanga, where people feel genuinely seen, valued, and supported. Aspiration turns our gaze forward, asking us to vision collectively and act with intention.

For women in leadership, this framework speaks directly to the relational, values-driven ways many of us already lead, validating these as strengths, not soft edges. It also deepens our understanding of inclusive leadership: creating spaces where diverse perspectives are not just welcomed, but essential.

Drawing on mātauranga Māori, this experience encourages us to think beyond silos and short-term outcomes, integrating people, environment, and purpose into a more holistic view of what leadership can be.
