Marisa Fong transformed being the only Chinese family in New Windsor, Auckland from feeling different to feeling distinctive – a mindset that would later fuel her journey to building and selling New Zealand's largest privately-owned recruitment company for $38 million.

As the eldest daughter of first-generation Chinese migrants, Marisa created considerable family anxiety by choosing entrepreneurship over the expected path of university and a "safe" career as a doctor, lawyer, or engineer. Ironically, her parents – who had built and sold successful restaurant businesses before creating a property portfolio – had unknowingly been her first business mentors, teaching her the work ethic, people skills, and wealth-building strategies that would define her success.

The co-founder of Madison Recruitment, Marisa now runs re:ampd, where she's on a mission to help 500 women in 5 years build stronger, more fulfilling businesses without burning out. Her philosophy? "We lead with yes, make business more fun, and focus on applying knowledge – because theory without action is just expensive entertainment."

An inductee into the New Zealand Hall of Fame for Women Entrepreneurs, Marisa brings a unique blend of hard-won business wisdom and genuine warmth to the stage. Her approach to entrepreneurship focuses on creating businesses that enhance lives rather than consume them, proving that success and fulfilment aren't mutually exclusive.
