- 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm
- The Parnell Hotel & Conference Centre, 10/20 Gladstone Road, Parnell, Auckland, 1052, New Zealand
Our speaker is Ali Mau
Meet Alison - award-winning journalist, advocate, and founder of Tika, the pioneering platform transforming how Aotearoa responds to sexual harm and violence.
Ali Mau’s career has spanned more than 30 years across television, radio, and print. She has anchored some of New Zealand’s most-watched current affairs programmes and led investigations that brought critical issues - including sexual harassment and abuse into the national spotlight.
Her work on Me TooNZ gave hundreds of survivors a platform to be heard and helped spark widespread conversations about consent, accountability, and cultural change.
Today, Ali is driving that change further as the co-founder of Tika, a first-of-its-kind digital platform designed to empower people impacted by sexual harm.
Tika enables survivors to record their harm safely and confidentially, seek specialist support, and decide whether to pursue formal action. By combining trauma-informed principles with leading technology, Tika is transforming reporting into a process that centres choice, dignity, and control.
At August’s Women’s Networking Event, Ali will share how her experiences in journalism and advocacy led her to build Tika. What she’s learned about ethical innovation, and how we can all play a role in creating systems that are truly survivor-centred.
This event is for anyone passionate about ethical leadership, technological solutions for social good, and building communities where people feel safe to speak up.
