Our speaker is Erika Barden, Managing Director of Frank Innovation & Transformation

Around 20 years ago, Erika and her fiancé walked the Camino de Santiago – a 780km walk from France to Compostela de Santiago in Spain. They loved the experience so much that they vowed if they worked out as a couple and were fortunate enough to have children, they’d walk the Camino again as a family.

 Well, Erika and Seamus got married, had three fantastic kids, and trekked the Camino again in 2023.

 In this talk Erika will share some of the joys and challenges of their family's journey of discovery—and some highlights and learnings of writing and self-publishing a book about it.

Erika is the Managing Director of Frank Innovation & Transformation. She helps connect organisational strategy with delivery and is passionate about people and positive work experiences.  She is also a wife and the Mum of three teens and two fur babies, is Chair of Te Korowai o Waiheke, has an olive grove and oil business, and is co-owner of a dairy farm in Southland and a butchery in Orakei. She enjoys a gin, practising Pilates and dreaming of her next family adventure.
