all about the auckland executive club

Objectives :

  • To encourage networking across the professions
  • To provide an opportunity for women from diverse backgrounds to meet, share ideas and enjoy each other's friendship and company
  • To co-ordinate monthly networking meetings with the emphasis on business promotion

Background :

The Auckland Executive Club was formed by a group of business women who felt that there was a lack of facilities for women in business, apart from service organisations.

In a lot of cases, many women go into the market place and get involved in all manner of careers, not knowing 'who else is out there' and what support or information may be available.

The Auckland Executive Club membership is aimed at people in senior management, the professions, business owners and people with specialist skills. We place emphasis on encouragement, sharing good news, hearing positive and dynamic speakers, and enthusiastically supporting all members who are making a dynamic difference in the business community. Extending friendship and support is what we are all about.

The Club was formalised in 1987 and has a constant membership of about 60. We welcome new faces at every meeting, and look forward to welcoming many more.

We restrict membership within business sectors to ensure a balance, however, if you would like to join, we would be delighted to talk to you.

Meetings :

These are usually held once a month at an inner city venue, are informal and take place over dinner. Speakers are a feature of most evenings, and the starting time is 6pm (details are always given in the monthly e-zine / newsletter).

The structured part of the evening is usually over by 9pm - 9.30pm, although anyone wishing to stay on and get to know more people will always have company.

Make sure you come with an ample supply of business cards - you will have plenty of opportunities to use them.
